Andrea Fino has studied law and worked in the field of communication; Samanta Snidaro has studied architecture in Italy and Spain, is also experienced in the field of photography and graphic. The join and clash of their background and experience turned out to be the sparks of their creations afterward.
Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro are designers and sculptors. Their experimentations with various possibilities of materials as well as the form and structure of furniture for the realisation of their ambitiousness in creation has put them at the top of contemporary and conceptual design since 2003.

Sand & Birch in Evolution & Alliance by WKU
Along with the request of their furniture and architecture works by around the world, in 2006, Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro co-founded the Sand & Birch Design Studio in Latina, Italy, which became a studio for their limited edition works and unprecedented experimentations in the creation of functional art.
Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro were the visiting lecturers at Paekche Institute of the Arts in Seoul and Wonkwang University in Iksan up until 2017. Sand & Birch Design Studio had been invited to be the partner of the Consortium of Universities in Turkey for academy support and research since 2019. Andrea Fino and Samanta Snidaro’s studio works had been listed in a number of publications, most recently the Evolution & Alliance by WKU, and the Kinetic Architecture by Liverpool University.

Alongside the external involvement in the educational sector, the studio has its own internship programme for design students. Since the start of the programme in 2008, students from around the globe have been coming to the studio to grow and share with us their talents.
The intercultural exchanging is especially primary in the studio, the encounters and fuses of minds and thoughts are the sparks for creating an object with profundity. Still, the trials of form and shape, new possibilities in term of material and structure, as well as the studies of environmental issues and the applications of the results, are also the routines of Sand & Birch Design Studio.
